What positions are these staff taking on? Thanks
Diane Fredregill

Do MCO's have functioning provider networks for CDAC agencies? Clients are going without this service for months, if getting it started at all.
Liz Matney

Geoff, each week we take a little time to introduce some of our Iowa Medicaid staff.
Liz Matney
21:25
Diane, both MCOs do have to meet network adequacy for services. Nationally, there are significant workforce challenges that we are working through. If you have specific concerns, please email IMEtownhall@dhs.state.ia.us. Thank you!

That Info Letter just states "OT payments and other workforce concessions that providers have made to continue serving members during the COVID-19 pandemic." We've also emailed IME for clarification but no response...yet.
Liz Matney
35:26
Roger, it is intended to be used to cover increased costs associated with staff wages during the public health emergency.

Is the ARPA funds designated for recruitment/retention of DSP's ONLY apply to DSP's that are working in an HCBS or HAB service?

I am an Individual CDAC Provider. I was told the rate increase would be paid retroactive to July 1st. When can I expect that retro payment? My member is with Iowa Total Care.

Winter, if you could email details to the IMEtownhall@dhs.state.ia.us mailbox, we will ensure there is follow up.

What is the timeframe in which a person can expect to receive a response from an inquiry to the IME email or Director Matney directly? We’ve been waiting several weeks for a response/acknowledgment.

I agree with the family members working with members vs calling them natural supports. This would be great to look at.

I think it is good to look at the rules for SCL and while we are at it, we need to look at the rules around DayHab and respite. Looking at Senior Companion services would be great also.

It would be great to take a look at caregivers taking care of someone under 18 years of age along with that... Many parents cannot work or have a hard time finding employment and then finding care for their disabled child...

For Behavioral Health the B3 Fee Schedule having no prior auths required but then the MCOs do require them. Can we get consistency otherwise what's the point of the B3 spelling out the rules for the PAs?

Any representative on this call from Amerigroup or Iowa Total Care - have tried our representatives to get the policy guidelines on urologicals ? IF the MCO shows no specific policy am I to assume it is exactly the same as IME ?

Interpretation of the rules has historically lead to inconsistencies in implementation. As rules are reviewed they should be clear enough that they do not require or allow for “interpretation”.
Joy Barlean
01:12:46
There are a lot of issues like that across the board and maybe separate out the rules under CCO would be a good idea
