Lt. Col. Michael Jones is the current Executive Director, CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) having been appointed in the position in March 2021. Lt. Col. Jones commenced his tenure at the Agency in 2009 as the Deputy Director, Joint Regional Communications Centre (JRCC); one of two operational sub-agencies of the CARICOM IMPACS with a primary focus on border security. By October 2010 he was promoted to the position of Director, JRCC. The nomenclature of the position was changed in 2012 to Chief Operations Officer (COO). For six years, he led the JRCC with distinction increasing strategic partnerships, making it one of the most recognizable regional security operational entities throughout the Region. In January 2018 Lt. Col. Michael Jones was appointed Executive Director (Ag.), CARICOM IMPACS by the Council of Ministers of National Security and Law Enforcement while maintaining his substantive COO duties.
