Health Literacy Best Practices in Social Marketing: #Sheswell—PrEP for Women Campaign
In this webinar, you’ll hear from the CDC health scientist that led the development of #ShesWell – an example of best practices in social marketing. CDC set out in 2021 to inform women about PrEP because according to its data, only 10% of women in the U.S. who could benefit from PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) for HIV prevention were prescribed PrEP in 2019. #ShesWell raises awareness and increases knowledge about the benefits of PrEP among both women and providers, with the goal of increasing the number of women receiving prescriptions of PrEP.

From lessons learned with the #ShesWell campaign, participants in this webinar will:

- Discuss how they’ve used social marketing for behavior change;
- Understand the usefulness of targeted digital advertising strategies and plain language to promote healthy behaviors in segmented populations;
- Define different digital advertising audiences for behavior change communication; and
- Gain knowledge of strategies to increase shared decision-making between consumers and healthcare providers.
