Chief Scientist Distinguished Lectured Series - Featuring Dr. Talitha Washington
Talk Title:
A Mathematical Journey: From Dynamical Systems to Data Science

Guest Speakers:
Dr. Talitha Washington

Abstract:
In this presentation, we begin by considering how the nonstandard finite difference scheme methodology constructs discretions of dynamical systems to preserve properties of a given system. We will then explore how the Atlanta University Center Data Science Initiative is developing a diverse data science community that is grounded in ethics and addresses topics in Black America. Dr. Talitha Washington will share insights on her mathematical journey that leads to exciting, unexpected new innovations that advances science and the scientific community.
