Session 3: CHW Sustainability Strategies: Advancing Practice and Policy

This session will offer a window into how the appropriate infrastructure, developed for and with CHWs, has led to the development of policy strategies for sustaining the CHW workforce. Presenters will share the approaches that they used to leverage the unique opportunities in their jurisdictions to overcome barriers and will provide practices that include examples of standardized training, certification programs, and reimbursement models that may be applicable and replicable to others.

The Community Health Worker Workforce - Getting to Sustainability is a four-part series aimed to demonstrate how regions, states, tribal nations and territories are advancing the CHW workforce by moving towards sustainability. This webinar series is hosted by OASH-ORHO Regions 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7.

Goals/Objectives for the Series include:
• Increase awareness of the professional CHW workforce among federal and state agencies, organizations, community partners, employers and allies represented in the regions.
• Disseminate CHW sustainability related tools and resources and promote their adoption/adaptation by other programs, agencies and states in the country.
