The United Nations Secretary-General will convene the UN Food Systems Summit (Summit) in September 2021. The stated goal of the Summit is to transform the way the world produces, consumes, and thinks about food in order to contribute to meeting the challenges of poverty, food security, malnutrition, population growth, climate change, and natural resource degradation.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) supports the Summit and its objectives and is working to ensure that the voices and equities throughout different U.S. food systems are represented in the Summit outcomes.
USDA encourages actors across all U.S. food systems sectors to get involved early and often in the Summit preparation process. This USDA-hosted webinar will provide attendees with the most recent Summit developments, information on how the USDA and the U.S. government are preparing, and ways for organizations and groups to engage. Future updates will be posted to USDA’s website.
